80 kg/m³ EVA foam is the general-purpose fitment grade. It holds a cut cavity accurately while staying easy to fabricate, and is the most widely specified EVA density for product packaging inserts.
80 Density EVA Foam specifications

Figures are for our standard specification. Density, width, length and lamination are all customisable — tell us your requirement and we will quote to it.
When to use 80 kg/m³
80 density is the default. It is firm enough that a routed cavity keeps its walls under normal handling, but still cuts fast and cleanly on both die and CNC.
If a customer specifies "EVA foam insert" with no density, this is what we quote unless the application says otherwise.
Typical applications
- Instrument and device carry-case inserts
- Medical device trays
- Consumer electronics fitments
- Sample and demo kit inserts
Common questions
What EVA density should I use for a device carry case?
80 density covers most cases. Move to 100 if the device is heavy or the case is opened daily, because higher density resists cavity wear better.
Can 80 density EVA be CNC-routed with fine detail?
Yes. 80 density holds detail well down to roughly 3 mm wall thickness. Below that we would move to 100 or 120 for wall stability.
